There’s wonderful trails and parks planned into the first phase of homes…. and for those who think the drive is too much… we were not yet in our car and to drive from Mesa Del Sol to the Alameda exit on 1-25 it took us exactly 15 minutes.  For people commuting to the UNM or Downtown areas MDS is excellent… for those living in Rio Rancho and commuting, a move to Mesa Del Sol could really give you more of your time and less time commuting.

Home builders are gearing up and breaking ground on their model homes in Mesa del Sol here in Albuquerque, NM!  This is a long awaited event and I’m so excited to see the homes and neighborhoods go up and be available for sale.

There are 4 different builders who are going to be in Mesa del Sol… Pulte, Paul Allen Homes, RayLee Homes, and Rachel Matthew Homes.  All will be offering a variety of floor plans and models.

DR Horton has a few neighborhoods like Anasazi Ridge, Montecito Estates, Estados at The Trails, Prima Entrada at The Petroglyphs, Stormcloud at The Petroglyphs, Sandstone Trails at Anderson Heights, and Taos at The Trails.  For most of these neighborhoods, they are building their homes to the Build Green NM Silver Level Certified Construction which means your home will be very energy efficient and your utilities bills will be less than homes not built to this level of green construction.

Also building on the west side is Scott Patrick Homes at Andalucia de La Luz, Abrazo Homes in Paradise Hills at Sundance Estates, Williams Designer Builder who is building many home styles in the Serenity at Paradise View subdivision, Stillbrooke Homes, Sky View Homes, Paul Allen Homes, Summertree Homes, Twilight Homes, Chesh Enterprises, Raylee Homes,  and Sun Mesa Construction. I’m sure I missed one or two but it’s obvious there’s plenty of new homes to choose from.

Yesterday we had a real estate team member in Minnesota who returned to New Mexico… what a contrast it was as New Mexico was about 13 degrees above normal and in the 60′s in the Albuquerque area, and when they left Minnesota is was  -11 degrees at the airport.

We sure love our beautiful southwest weather.  Not to say we don’t have our weather issues, but they sure seem pretty small compared to other parts of the country.

Homes in New Mexico and our southwest area can vary quite a bit.  From city homes and condos, to homes with RV parking or room for horses, ranches and farms, to mountain hideaways.  New Mexico has such a variety of climates and terrains from high desert to forest.  Many people think all of New Mexico is like the Phoenix Arizona area… hot and dry. Not so.

We’ve had many people relocating her who have visited Colorado and Arizona to consider these locations in addition to moving to New Mexico.  Relocation by choice is a big decision and it seems that New Mexico often ranks very highly after people have visited here.
